Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the double post. I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice or suggestions on debugging playback of divx movies (avi's and mpg's) via the TV-OUT of my PVR350. As of now, when I try to play the video's, the playback interface is shown but nothing plays. Playing them normally via my boards TV-OUT is fine.

I've searched the forum and it seems the advice ranges from trying various decoders, to toggling between vmr9 and/or overlay. I've also tried Cyberlinks decoders as well to no affect.

Thanks everyone and sorry for the double post. Any advice would be appreciated.

regards,

Geoffrey

The PVR-350 only support MPEG1 and MPEG2 playback, the options you are refering to are users using their VGA card for playback or the XCard since it support more formats.

I guess I assumed that gbpvr was able to do the conversion on the fly.

Is there any scope for this sort of thing to be added as a plugin in the near future? Are there prog's that do this already?

Transcoding or the real time conversion of a video from one format to another can be very system intensive and the Sub has said he would not be putting it into GBPVR. This does not mean that a plug-in is not possible, but Sub will not be doing it from his last comments.
There are some programs, some free and some for a small fee, that will convert many video types to another as a batch process, they don’t do it at real time so it would require some planning ahead on your part to watch it.

I noticed that in my MVP directory there is a directory called transcode that has a program called transcode jukebox that can convert divx to mpeg. And it comes with the MVP. I plan on writing hauppauge to see if there are command line options for it. If so I can make add divx support to xrecord.
