N.b. Media Player Classic and Windows Media Player are not the same and therefore not necessarily using the same filters. Afaik MPC can play alot with it's own filters, not using windows directshow filters.

I finally got it resolved but I dont know what is the reason. I got the avi file playing in PVRX2 by just renaming its folder (shorter file name instead of the original). Very strange and this make the file playable immediately. Anyone has an explanation to this?

are all your hard drives ntfs file system
how long was the old name and how short did you have to make it ?

its very long the original name is like iron.man.xxxx.xxxxx.xxxxx. then i just shorten it to iron.man and cut away those but this should not be a problem cause I have folder names that is even longer such as Fantastic.Four-Rise.Of.The.Silver.Surfer[2007]DvDrip.AC3[Eng]-aXXo but works.
