Avivo Decoder ???

I have used the ATI Decoder in both a X1950 pro and a 3650. Found it to be the only thing that works well with my setup. All changes can be made in the catalyst control center. I recently switched to the EVR renderer and playback is super smooth, was a "little" jumpy with VMR9. Unfortunately I had to give up hardware acceleration because I'm haven't jumped to vista but I would trade that for smooth playback any day. All this is done with HD channels with a QAM tuner.

Okay, I have tried everything else trying to get good playback on the 3450, so I decided to install Vista as a dual boot. I tried all video renderers (VRM9, EVR, FSE) and still was not able to get stutter free video. Close, but not quite.

My understanding is that EVR mode under Vista supports hardware acceleration on the ATI 3450. However, when I run in this mode, I get higher cpu usage than in VMR9 on Vista (which is not supposed to support hwa). How can I tell if dxva is being used? Is there a utility that can run to show this? Also, is there a utility that will let me know if, and how many frames are being skipped? I have heard of graphedit (although never used it) - will this give me the info I need?
