After reaching PVR heaven with my setup recently, it was short lived as the other day I lost all ITV1's - I didn't knowingly do anything to lose them but the settings I have match those on Lyngsat so I dont think they've been moved about again. (DVB-S, no ITV1 region seems to work) I cant do a SAT rescan cause it bitches about the BDA device not being available. It deletes the scan.cache file, creates a 0 size one then moans and wont scan anything. It used to work fine - it was months ago I did a sat scan so I have no idea what I've done. Any ideas?? I've applied the sat scan patch from the survival thread but that made no difference. Assuming all I was meant to do was put the file in the GBPVR directory.

The other problem is HD playback. Stuff I recorded ages ago playsback fine, but stuff I've recently recorded plays for 30-40 seconds then hangs. I can fast forward etc and it continues to play for another 30-40 seconds before hanging again.... I was not popular for recording Strictly Come Dancing off the HD channel...! Annoyingly the resulting ts file played fine directly in PDVD so it's something with GBPVR that's causing the problem. It used to work fine! As I say, stuff I recorded months ago still playsback fine.

With both of these issues, I'm tempted to delete the lot and start again but that seems a little extreme!

OK, ignore the bit with the scanning crashing, I've sorted that out. The config had defaulted to the first sat in the list. Selecting the Astra ones at 28.8 and it scans the 95 odd transponders fine, but I get 0 channels. You see the signal indicators go up for many TPs but 0 channels found. Any idea why? I've got a Skystar2 in there and never had any trouble before. I've not knowingly change the LNB settings or anything. Anyone know what these should be? It's a standard quad LNB.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll see if anything stands out.

Here's the config log. I'm wondering if the card is faulty as it I sometimes get half the screen green and half a static image from the channel and only a reboot seems to cure. I've looked for the latest skystar2 BDA drivers and installed them this evening but the resulting scan on Europbird1 (I get the same from the 95 Astra 2 TPs) produced 0 channels. For the record I have the following settings:
Device Type: TechniSat SkyStar2 PCI (BDA)
Country: all countries
region/transmitter: Astra 2A, 2B, 2D (is it possible to get it to scan eurobird 1 at the same time?? also there's talk on Digitalspy of 2C being used...)
LNB LOF1(Mhz): 9750
LNB Switch (Mhz): 11700
LNB LOG2(Mhz): 10600
powered: ticked
DiSEqC: None

I've got a normal Quad LNB.

Thanks for any advice!

Can you also post the config.exe-native.log file?

Big Moose, you have a very similiar setup to me, I cant get through a scan at all, Pob was kind enough to provide a cache file for me in this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=38178
I can confirm that the ITV1 channels work properly from that.

Sorry, meant to say in my previous post that the config.exe-native.log was 0 bytes so I didn't bother to post it. I'll have another go later. Oddly I've noticed that every time I try a scan and then go back to pvrx2 I get the half green screen "crash" on all sat channels and have to reboot. Seems the scan is upsetting the card somehow. Maybe it's just a crap card and I should get a new one, but it's interesting if others are having similar issues with other cards.

Thanks trummel, I'll give that cache file a go! Will be very interesting to see if it works since the ITV channels I had worked fine until one day last week for no obvious reason!

Thanks trummel for that, the scan file provided does indeed work with most of the ITV1 regions. Other channels I've had problems with also work but More4 is not having any of it. It's strange what does and doesn't work. It's a pain that with all the musical TPs that's being played on the Asta2/Eurobird sats that you have to rescan everytime and when the scans dont work you're stuffed! It'd be great if they left all well alone! But I guess making room for C5 is a good thing - assuming they ever do!!

After reading this thread and possible somewhere else, I've solved my lack of scanning problems by running the reregister-filters.bat - or whatever it's called. Completely forgot about that fix despite using it before for DVB-T scans failing :o
