I have been trying to get a myriad of my old remote controls and IR receivers to work with GBPVR. I had some amazing success with an old X10 remote and an X10 serial receiver.

The remote is the X10 MP3 UR51A, and the receiver is a MR26a. I downloaded the Boom 2000 software from the X10 site. This software works much like HIP but is much simpler as it is made specifically (and only) for X10 remotes.

In Boom 2000, you set up GBPVR as one of the three applications that can be controlled by the software. Then you map keys on the X10 remote to key strokes for GBPVR. That's about it.

One note: you have to open GBPVR from within Boom 2000.

Hope this helps someone suffering remote issues like I was!

I posted this in another thread, and was suprised more people weren't do this. May not work with X10, but it's fairly straightforward:

Just like to say GBPVR rocks as far as it's streamline setup and stability. I tried MediaPortal, thought it would be fun, but found the GBPVR is the app which has everything I need.

For the ATI Remote Wonders, mines a RW+ the easiest way to go about setting it up is installing the RW software from ATI, I've got version 3.04 which seems to be pretty dependable. Then go download this nearly impossible to find plugin:

http://www.bumderland.com/KeyMapper.html

This plugin will even give you access to those keys they don't want you to have access to, like the red button. It's got all the buttons plus some, and best of all as far as I can tell it's free. Once you figure out how to use it it takes about 30 minutes to setup your remote like it should be. Not sure if this works with the X10 remotes, but I will probably get one soon. Hope this saves some time for others trying to setup their Remote Wonders.
