if this is an MCE remote (which it looks and sounds like it is) then irremote.ini shouldn't have much to do with it - that just holds the key mappings for hauppauges IR32.exe. Use HIP or similar to map the buttons for an MCE remote. http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/...rdware.HIP

So - the ir32.exe and irremote.ini file are exclusively Hauppauge?? I didn't know that!

Seems like letting Windows handle the remote (since it is a MCE clone) seems to work best. I found another program (intelliremote) that looks like it has many possibilities for customization. I will report back what I find.

yeah Hauppauge produce non-MCE kit that runs off it's own remote hardware and software, and also MCE stuff that is designed to run with Microsoft hardware (even if it's badged Hauppauge). It looks like you've got the latter.

Other people on the forums have recommended intelliremote. I think it just does the same as HIP but I have no experience of it to tell you what the differences would be.
