I have a Chaintech 7.1 sound card with SPDIF out. I have an ATI AIW 9600 video card. Origionally I wasn't able to get the SPDIF audio to work with Live TV in either GBPVR or Beyond TV and read in some of the forums that the problem was with converting the analog audio to digital format. I bought a Hauppauge PVR-150 tuner card and now have audio on live TV.

Now I'm trying to play DVDs and am unable to get audio out. I can get audio when I play the DVD through Windows Media Player. I have the ATI DVD Decoder application installed and I believe a Cyberlink DVD decoder as well. I have changed every setting possible in the config and have had no luck. Any suggestions?

If you use the cyberlink decoder, I would imagine that you would have to start PowerDVD and set the audio out to spdif rather than 5.1 (or whatever)

I know that with my Soundblaster Live! it can decode AC-3 so I don't have to keep changing it backwards and forwards depending on what sound sourceI am listening to.

My Setup:
Windows Server 2003 SP1 on AMD XP2200+, 1 Gig DDR Ram, 1 x 200 Gig and 1 x 160 Gig Seagate Harddrives, Hauppauge PVR500MCE
2 x Hauppauge MVP's (Bedroom and Lounge)

No such luck. I hadn't gotten Cyberlink installed yet when I posted the last post. I went ahead and installed it after your suggestion and configured it the way you said. I played a DVD through Cyberlink and was able to hear the audio. In the config I selected the new audio and video decoders that showed up. Unfortunately I'm still unable to get any audio when playing a DVD through gbpvr. Any other suggestions?
