Remote keys not working

Hello, I have a MCE remote that works great except for certain keys. The "Mute" and "Previous Channel" buttons don't work. The are mapped at ^M and ^W. The keyboard shortcuts work fine, but they don't work on the remote. The keys on the remote controll are mapped correctly. I've installed Eventghost but it seems a little challenging for me. Is there another way of configuring the remote to work (via an .xml fine for sometime) or do I have to use EventGhost?

The MCE remote isnt configurable in GB-PVR. If you need to change the default behaviour then you do need to use something like EventGhost or HIP.
