Right.... Sub, I'll tell you what was causing the problem just as long as you promise not to get all smug on me, ok?

It was NOD32.

Specifcally:-
Web access protection
Web browsers
I had to add a red X next to pvrx2 and the recordingservice to exclude them from content filtering.

I also realised that EWA had stopped working as well.

It must of been some change in behaviour of NOD32 that triggered the problem. Anoyingly, it was not reporting that it was blocking anything.

I hope that wasn't an "I told you so" I just heard then.... ;-)
