I will open up PVRX2 and check out the TV guide and if some movie looks interesting I will record it. Later I will check the downloads and find a 6 GB movie file. When I go into a video file editor so I can cut the commercials it only show a 30 minute run time.
I can go into Windows Media Player and it also shows a 30 minute run time. A 6GB file should cover a 2 hour film.. so how come I am only able to view 30 minutes of the film. Any ideas ?

How long was the recording supposed to be?

How long does PVRX2 report the duration as?

If you're using a digital device for recording, what do you have the BDA Multiplexer set to on the Misc2 tab?

Typical movie size... 2 hours or 2 1/2 hours with the commercials
PVRX2 TV guide shows the same 2 hours or 2 1/2 hours with commercials

The card is the Hauppague WinTV PVR PCI II

Thanks for the quick reply.

I meant, when you played the file, how long did the application timeline report?

PVR150/500? If so, I'm guessing its the timestamp problem these devices have: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=14006
