I have a Hauppauge pvr usb2 that had been working fine. In my lineup I lost the Encore and Starz channels so I tried to use ChangeEPGSources to easily put them back. I use two capture sources, Tuner and Composite with XMLTV from SchedulesDirect. ChangeEPGSources didn't make the channels show up, and changed the Composite source so I had to reconfigure it. After I did that, I can no longer record. Either I get noise, or it records from the tuner. However, I can go to the guide and select a program and Watch it and it seems fine. How do I fix this?

The second question is how do I get the channels back that changed names, Encore and Starz? Do I add them under Channels? I have tried adding just one and am going to see if that has any effect.

Thanks,
Mike

I removed the composite source and added it again and "check"ed the channels. When I Watched a cable box channel (composite) the Recording Status showed using the composite source, but when I recorded it, it showed using the tuner. Somehow the tuner ended up with all the channels checked for it. Once I unchecked them for the tuner and checked them for the composite source, it could record again.

I'm still trying to get the Encore and Starz channels to show up.

Does the xmltv file you're supplying have these channels in it?

Your reply caused me to look for a config file. I read i-xmltv/readme-now.txt and saw that I had to run --configure.bat again. The channels have come back. Thanks.

My first problem (recording from composite) isn't fixed yet. I added logs. I had set it to record from composite from 6-630pm for Flight of the Conchords. but it ended up recording from the tuner instead. I can Watch from composite, and Quick Record. But it failed the scheduled recording twice. I will play around a little more with scheduled recording. Thanks.

I'm guessing the channel you tried to record from is enabled in both your tuner and composite capture sources. If its only available in the composite capture source, then that is the only one it'll use.

That channel wasn't enabled in both, but some others were, so I squared them away. It seems to be working now. Thanks.
