Tonight, at about 3:02am, I noticed my computer starting to slow down. I looked in the Windows Task Manager and PVRX2 was using about 85% cpu. It was just sitting there on the Pending screen. I was watching a video using another program and looking at a web page. Things were still running, but the video became a little choppy.

I use a program called ProcessTamer to automatically set priorities for different apps so I can record programs on the same computer and they don't lose data. I looked there and saw that I had set PVRx2 to have Below Normal priority as it sometimes hogs the cpu. I put it's priority back to Normal, thinking it may improve things. Now, my computer became almost unusable, and PVRx2 went up to about 97% cpu. I could move the cursor around onscreen, but windows wouldn't redraw. This was about 3:15. It should have started recording a program at 3:05, but it the hard disk light wasn't blinking fast enough, so it probably wasn't being recorded very well.

I disconnected my Hauppauge Winpvr USB2 so it would stop recording. I didn't hear the tones that usually accompany disconnecting it.

I clicked the closes button on PVRx2, though the cursor disappeared when it was over the PVRx2 window. It didn't immediately close. I tried to use Windows Task Manager to kill it, but it wouldn't redraw, and it has high priority!

Finally, PVRx2 closed and my computer came back to life. This was about 3:19.

Thanks.

Unfortunately that doesnt show anything signifinicant happening between 3:02 and 3:19. A couple of dozen non important log messages.

Maybe try temporarily removing any plugins you've got installed to see if the problem persists?
