The GUI version works great for me.

The only downside to HB (and it could be ignorance on my part) is it's not easy if possible at all, to tweak the x264 settings. There is a place to enter additional x264 parameters but I have found that it is error prone.

Megui OTOH has tons of profiles for all kinds of output destinations. But one thing Megui doesn't do is coordinate the encoding of the video and audio. It does video, then audio then muxing and since there are different programs involved in each phase, it cannot take into account dropouts in the audio stream caused by transmission glitches etc. Of course from a pristine source like a BR or DVD, it's fine.

HB from my experience, can handle those glitches (which occur for me quite regularly on DVB-T broadcasts captured using gbpvr)

Just getting my feet wet with the whole digital TV TS Mux and Cyberlink Mux thing. Cyberlink Mux doesn't work on the DMB-T steam we have here, blocky and stutters, but TS works fine, although big files. 55oMB for 20 mins worth. Used Tsconverter for TS-mpeg conversion (just 37MB) but want to automate that wiht a command line in postprocessing. Can someone help me with the syntax esp. passing the %1 etc file to TSconverter and deleting the TS file?

Thanks!

k.

I probably don't really. I just want a smaller file size, and as the Cyberlink Mux thingy doesn't seem to work for me, I thought I'd post-convert it from TS. I attempting the wrong way to do this?

k, I thought you might have been thinking that but you really wouldn't notice a size difference on the remux. Transcoding can compress h264 or by cutting the bit rate/size, but that is done in post-processing. I'd avoid anything but the TS Mux for recording, it's the best way to capture.

No worries with the Mux for recording, as it works well for me. I was curious to use it when I saw how TSConverter reduced a 550MB file to 37MB! If the post-recording conversion process from the Processing Tab doesn't do much either I'm happy to keep it that way.

I have another issue with NICAM audio (again) but will make a separate thread Cheers k.

I don't even think the low quality RMVB transcodes (which are the smallest size I've seen) are 37MB for twenty minutes so I think you might be playing the original source. If not and you really have a 20 minute file that small could you upload it to megupload, I'd like to see it.

I managed to get FFMpeg working with the Cyberlink Mux. The problem was the audio going out of sync because of slight break ups in the reception. I just added the -async command to my conversion settings with a rather larger setting of 100000. Worked a treat and it is all automated now. I can't promise a 20MB file size though Smile
