a batch script to fix some of my problems

Hey all,

I am writing a batch script to fix some of my problems (hopefully). Does anyone know how I can call GBPVR to update my EPG from a batch file?

So far this is what I have:

REM delete xml file
"del C:\Program Files\multimedia\gbpvr\listings\xmltv.xml"
REM update XML tv listings | update EPG
"C:\Program Files\multimedia\gbpvr\listings\mc2xml.exe" -c us -g 16801
REM TODO: update EPG
REM restart recording service
net stop gb-pvr recording service
net start gb-pvr recording service

hmm.. so something like this?

net start gb-pvr recording service -UpdateEPGOnly


would that work?

nope, that would start the recording service...
you need to run pvrx2.exe with -updateepgonly...but i digress...

are the epg updates not being started by gbpvr?

to run the whole process, [including updateepg.bat,postupdateepg.bat], run "pvrx2.exe -updateepgonly "
but your mc2xml commands should be in updateepg.bat and running pvrx2 with -updateepgonly will create a loop,running itself over and over..

so put just your xml creation cmds[mc2xml] inside updateepg.bat, then start the whole process off by just running "pvrx2.exe -updatepgonly" and it will run your updateepg.bat, then import the resultant file after batch file is done, then exit...

is that a bit clearer?

If all that you need is to run the mc2xml exe BEFORE GB-PVR auto updates it's EPG then just put the line " "C:\Program Files\multimedia\gbpvr\listings\mc2xml.exe" -c us -g 16801" in a file called UpdateEPG.bat in the GB-PVR directory. More info on the wiki:
