Just for completeness my modem/router will only allow me to set up port forwarding to the same port number i.e:
port 7674 will only forward to pc:7674 I would need to use two different ports to forward to two separate computers i.e: port 7674 >>> pc1:7674 port 7675 >>> pc2:7675 It's a relatively old modem/router and I have no idea how common this limitation is.

Do you have a gbpvr-webserver running on both computers?

So then you only have to forward port 7647 from the router to your gbpvr-system.

Then, when I am away from home, I can use http://nn.nn.nn.nn:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx and access GBPVR to set recordings and stream recorded programmes to my laptop. (nn.nn.nn.nn is my fixed IP address)
