Well, I am about to give up. I cannot get a proper EPG no matter what I try. I've completely re-installed Vista and GBPVR. I've tried with and without Windows Firewall. I've verified my settings in Schedules Direct (and of course in the Config app). The recording service interacts with the desktop. I only have a simple ATSC over the air setup. I get the channels fine, but I only get--sometimes--a couple of hours of EPG data. I have no idea where else to look. Anybody got any suggestions?

Thanks to any who respond.

Go to the Schedules Direct forums and search for the keyword "MTU". There is a networking problem that can occur for a small number of people, causing them to send only a very small number of TV listings. From the messages in your logs, I'm fairly sure this is the problem you're having.

Thanks Sub for the response. I have searched the Schedules Direct forums, but all I can find is the fact that there is a problem, but not a solution to the problem. Am I not seeing the trees for the forest?

I dont know what the solution is. I've never had the problem myself.

From memory I saw some comments indicating you could work around by using xmltv instead of the built in schedules direct support, when you used some special xmltv command line which worked around the problem formating its network transfer a certain way. I could be wrong though...

I changed the MTU in my router from the default of 1492 to 1430 and I got a proper listing. We'll see how long it lasts. Thanks, Sub.

On a side note, I don't really use GBPVR very much, not because it's not a great program, but because I think there is a ghost in my machine that always makes one thing or another go wrong, and that really hurts the WAF factor. But I regularly read the forums and am astounded at the support that you provide. I don't know what motivates you, but you have my profound respect for doing what you do.
