GBPVR Recording Service

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I searched the forums, but cannot seem to find the answer, so...

Sometime in the near future, I'm going to upgrade my box from 512 MB of RAM to 2 GB, but until then, I would like to be able to make the GBPVRRecordingService.exe NOT start with my Windows XP Pro SP2 machine.

I cannot find anything in the Config tool to make this not start with Windows and I also cannot find anything in the System Configuration Utility of Windows that makes it not start with Windows. In the System Config Utility, there's only an option called GB-PVR Tray.

I unchecked that, but after looking in Process Explorer, I see that GBPVRRecordingService.exe is still starting with Windows.

I even do a search on Google and no answers from there.

Also, I know that this is not really a big deal, but until I upgrade my limited RAM, I'd like to NOT have to go into Process Explorer each time my system is started.

Start > Run > services.msc. Change startup type to Manual.

Note that if you do this you won't be able to watch Live TV or Record anything.

and you can use the stop.bat to stop it, and the restart.bat in gbpvr to restart it again when you need it...
or these cmds:
to stop:
net stop "GB-PVR Recording Service"
to start:
net start "GB-PVR Recording Service"
