Can anyone suggest a good codec, combination of codecs, and/or gbpvr settings for playing back transport stream recordings. I am using a firewire connection from my Motorola STB with GraphRecorder and GBPVR but I don't seem to have a codec which plays the TS recordings very good.

TS files are containers that carry audio/video/data. The types of decoders you'd use would depend on the type of audio/video carried in the TS. In the USA its probably MPEG2 video and AC3 audio or MPEG1 Layer 2 audio.

You also need a TS source filter. GB-PVR includes a source filter that is used, but it expects clean TS files (188 byte aligned packets etc), like those produced by GB-PVR recordings. I'm not sure if the Motorola STB with firewire via GraphRecorder records TS files that are as clean.

Everything I have read says you really need to get a Mac or use Linux to get quality TS stream over 1394. I myself cannot get a good copy on Windows Vista or XP but Linux was error free.
