No need to configue anything, all is fully automatic, DXVA (MPEG2, h.264 and VC-1) when available, subtitles, MPEG2 muxer, etc...

EDIT:
For more info look in to changelog:

What filter are you using for Live TV H264? On my HD3200 I can only get good pans in sport using PDVD H264 which I think you've said your pack is not compatible with...

CyberLink h.264 Decoder Filter (v.2.2.0.527).
You will no longer need PDVD installed.

I cannot add any kind of Cyberlink stuff in SAF, but there are workaround...

PM me (or contact me on ICQ) if you want more info.

SAF looks like a good idea! Smile

but two things are still keeping me clinging to ffdshow..

1) "warped resize" to scale 4x3 video onto my 16x9 plasma, done automatically by a profile that only resizes if the source's aspect ratio is 4x3

2) subtitles (on live TV and recordings) by hitting the 'y' key, which I've mapped to the Yellow key in irremote.ini letting me turn it on and off from my remote

are either of these feasible in your solution?

Honestly, both points should be done by player, not decoder.
MediaPlayer is capable of both..

you're right, but given the architecture of GB-PVR and all playback being handed off to DirectShow, there's no other way to accomplish those tasks... unless sub puts in some hooks for us to fiddle with the playback graph.. Wink

Its not 'warped' resize, but in the "<AspectRatioModes shape="16x9">" section of config.xml you can set "<AspectRatioMode name="PillarBox" ratio="0,0,1,1" />" and all 4:3 source material will be automatically stretched to fill your 16:9 screen (when in the auto mode).
