My Twinhan Ter-CI card (without the CI module but with multidec instead) worked great in contrast in Live TV mode as well as in timeshift. But it was a while ago I tested the Nova. I suspect drivers might have imprioved a lot since then.

Whoa. That is interesting. So you got it working, but 'totally garbled' may be what I am referring to as 'heavily artefacted'. And you say it went away when you choose another card? That is interesting and annoying at the same time.

I am also working on MythTV, with both MythDora and Mythbuntu. Both the Nova card and the 'MDapi' (actually called sasc-ng on linux) behave nicely. But Mythbuntu is giving me video driver problems, and MythDora general stability problems. I am just not having luck with this rebuild of my PVR. (I used to run Myth with PVR500 analog)....

Yes, the Nova never worked for me. I tried yesterday with the Terratec 2400 and that works as a charm too now! I updated the BDA drivers and mdapifilter. Wether the Nova works with current drivers I do not know.

Hope you get it to work...

Well, that 2400 looks nice, but will not work for my Pundit-R: I need less then full height cards on PCI. Unless if I replace the entire thing.

Just to make sure we are not mis-cummunicating: You got it work but very garbled, in which of the following conditions (if you still remember):

- FTA channels and MDapi disabled
- FTA channels and MDapi enabled
- non-FTA channels and MDapi disabled
- non-FTA channels and MDapi enabled

Also, if you still know, do you remember the exact T500 type? There are a few, when downloading drivers Hauppage is asking you for the first 2 digits of the 5 digit number on the sticker on the card. Mine are 99. Another indicator is the number of antenna ports. Mine has one, but the TD500 ot T500D version has two ports (antenna diversity)

If you could fill in these questions, thanks

Do not remember the specifics about the Nova, sorry. But it had only one antenna.

I do not get garbled/artifacted video anymore on any of my DVB-T cards. That issue is gone. I have enabled MDAPI on all tuners and it works fine with both FTA and encrypted. (It will check again tonight exactly which tuner does what in my testing.)
I have some hickups on audio on the Animal planet and Eurosport channels though. It might have to do with the new subtitles filter. Needs investigating...

No need to test on your current setup, thanks.

I was only hoping you'd still remember some specifics of your T500 setup. I am happy for you your current setup works, but it will not help me to determine if my problem is really hardware related (which I still doubt, given the life-vs-timeshift situation)

I think what I will do next is, completely scratch-install XP, to see if it behaves the same in a clean install. I may also do a scratch install of MediaPortal, to see how that works. Last time I tried it kept crashing the system.

Thanks for your help though.

Ah, sorry. I misunderstood.

With the Nova I only got artefacts with encrypted channels. FTA was fine regardless of if MDAPI was enabled or not. At least that is how I remember it.

Can you stop asking me for keyfiles? As I wrote, I do not *have* any keyfiles, and as little I know about them, I do not think Dutch Digitenne would even be useful for anyone in Gjovik

Sorry I never got that message. (And at least, one can answer a question polite).

Just a followup on my own experiance. I have gotten all channels to decode properly. Those two that got "hickup" audio was because of wrong audio codec setup.

As written in another thread I also got two(!) recordings of encrypted channels on separate tuners going, for a minute or two, then it hang...
It seems though that the Terratec 2400i DT (dual tuner card) can only handle one multidec session with my setup. So the other recording was on my third tuner, the twinhan.

If anyone has some tips of avoiding this hang I would welcome it. I run Yankse and summer 2009 mdapifilter with default mdapi config.
