SoftCAM with Conax card

Has anyone had success using a softcam/mdapi + cardreader with a conax smartcard? I tried setting up CnxCam as a mdplugin with an Infinity USBSMART (which can emulate Phoenix and Smartmouse) and actually had it working for a little while in my testrig. But then I tested another softcam, with no success, and later I cannot get the original setup to work anymore. Pvrx2 says "no signal detected" if I try to watch an encrypted channel, and the info-window from Cnxcam says "searching for card". I'm not sure how the cardreader should be set up for my smartcard (from Canal Digital), and what settings to use in Cnxcam ini-file.

If anyone has managed to make a similar setup working I'd very much like to hear from you.

Obviously no one has done something similar.
After updating MDAPI filter to newest version I'v done some more tests, the strange thing is that the softcam (CnxCam) decodes beautifully when it is called fron Config app. but when called from PVRX2 the status window just says "searching for card" and Pvrx2 eventually says "no signal detected". How come?

I cant think of any reason it'd be different in PVRX2 than the config app, since they share all the code (ie, both use NativeUtilities.dll for live tv).

Does the tray icon show the plugin being successfully loaded?

I suspect you might need to ask someone on the dvnb forums to take a look at your mdapifilter log.

Yes the tray-icon is visible and I used it to open Cnxcam's status window, but pvrx2 does not respond after saying "no signal...". I have to kill it "by force". However, when running Config everything works great. BTW, when using the softcam I get 3 days of DVB-EPG, when using the CI/CA module I get only a couple of hours. Strange, eh?

Something must be different thou, since it behaves different. Is there any logs I can produce that might give a hint?

As mentioned above, it might require someone on the dvnb forums to take a look at your mdapifilter log for some clues.

Huh? I have never ever gotten encrypted channels to display a preview in the config app, i.e in the scan for channels section. Only FTA channels display a preview. Should the preview work for encrypted channels too?

It was something I had on my wishlist actually but never got around to post.

I don't see a preview eighter but when updating EPG from config.exe I can watch the cam's status window and see that it decrypts quick and smoot.

I did a quick test with Acamd but it doesn't seem to be able to read my smartcard.

I use newcs (1.5) and the latest version of wincsc with the latest version of mdapi, works fine for me, not tried in the latest gbpvr yet, waiting for some new hardware which will need me to reinstall.
