Idiot question here (MVP & NMT tab)

The NMT is exactly the same as MVP in this regard, there is a small dumb client process that runs locally on the device, sending key stokes to the server, and receiving screens to display. There is no local GBPVR installation or anything like that. Its just the same as the MVP.

With the MVP that client process is a executable hidden inside dongle.bin. With the NMT that client process is mvpmcx2.

Thats what i am looking for, this puts my mind at ease with regard the MVP on a NMT, just need one to auto boot this local client (which i am told is possible in this thread somewhere).

Ive had a response from Hauppauge, they are saying 6 weeks (about mid to end of February) and it supports the HDPVR stuff as well.

So, should i wait for the new MVP or attempt to dig in to the NMT arena, i dont like waiting for new hardware for 2 reasons normally, 1 they never arrive on time and 2 really expensive for the first 6 months as no one can get one...

You have a choice. An HD media extender that is available and works with GBPVR or something else that is not yet available and will not work with GBPVR.
