Nope it works and I scrape the page too.

Checking NMT Version
01-17-091202-15-POP-402-000

What do you see on the NMT's Maintenance screen?

Edit gbpvr.cgi and if it says

-o username=root,rw

change that first to

-o username=root,ro

and then

-o username=guest,ro

I just noticed I wasn't doing things as you had asked in post #6 "choose option 1" since I was used to "choose the option open GB-PVR via the Network Browser" from the dummies guide. It works with option 1. Should option 2 work also?
By the way, whenever I mentioned network browser earlier I was referring to the option on the PCH home menu and not option 2.

No, all the choices are mutually exclusive, once you run one, the others will not work. I'll see if I can clean the guide up to make this clearer, it was probably working all along.

I agree it probably was working all along. I take it "GB-PVR via the Network Browser" has to be chosen when browsing the network through the PCH Network Browser and the 1st option "GB-PVR" has to be chosen when it is mapped from Network Share. For us dummies, pictures -with notes are worth a thousand words. Something like that might help others in the future in the guide. Thanks for looking into clearing up the guide. Now I can give you the extreme thanks you deserve for working on the PCH. The family can now watch any file type in any room.
Now for minor stuff. Zoom is working but I can't get the 16:9 shows to be letterboxed on my 4:3 TV sets. Is there something that can be done to correct this? I have GBPVR set to 4:3.

Good idea on the pictures, feel free to update the GBPVR wiki.

The GBPVR setting for aspect ratio is not used, you need to set your monitor type up on the NMT box Setup-> Audio / Vido screen. The default setting is taken from Video Zoom Full Fill or Crop (I think you want Fill) and the TV Type is the aspect ratio.
