Hi

Thanks for trying to give me support while I ask so many questions

Yes there is Audio in the file

The recorded .ts files playback with audio in Windows Media Player
Playback in VLC Player

Refuses in Media Player Classic - Audio error generated failed to find connectable filter
EDIT - Same for all .ts files so not your prog.

GSpot reports DirectShow partial render failure unknown error 0x00040242
EDIT - GSpot reports that error for all .ts files I have so that probably doesnt mean anything

But still a problem inside GB-PVR
Refuses to playback audio with any of the available selections in GB-PVR

Cheers
Pete

I'm sure the file is fine. With digital recordings its just a dump of whatever the broadcaster transmitted.

You might need to install some other decoders though. What MPEG1 Layer 2 audio decoder options did you have available?

Hi Sub

Just edited my previous post to reflect new corrections that file does indeed contain audio.

I have ffdShow / MPEG / and MS DTV DVD audio decoders avaiable as options in the drop down.

K-Lite std. pack is installed ?

Anything else ? I have put up ffdShow merit level to max ? Was that right.

Look in the PVRX2 native log. You should see a block of lines that list the decoders that are being used for playback. For me it looks like ...

Quote:Graph contains the following filters:
2010-03-07 01:25:49.031 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
2010-03-07 01:25:49.031 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
2010-03-07 01:25:49.031 VERBOSE - CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD9)
2010-03-07 01:25:49.031 VERBOSE - ffdshow Audio Decoder
2010-03-07 01:25:49.031 VERBOSE - GB-PVR Flow Status
My experience has been that "all" decoders are naughty and interfere with each other. It is my habit to de-install everything in sight and to try one at a time.

Ha - Apparently very true

I have now uninstalled k-Lite codecs and installed Shark7 control-codecs ! ! !

This has meant that some different things now work and others that did work now don't . . .

But by using Haali media splitter for ts/ps files ? and enabling AC3Filter-ACM Codec I now have sound in playback of recorded files.

Of course something had to go and now .ts AC3 files won't play audio in WMP ?

Is it ever possible to get all players and all files working at the same time ? ? ?

Having lots of fun playing - now to install a MUX and really Fnarrf things up

Hi All (again)

Decided to do the thing that they all say must not be done . . .

Set a restore point and installed k-lite pack as well as Shark and OK
(? So Far)

We shall see . . .

Loaded in the highest number Cyberlink MUX and that seems to be working well too ! ! !

Big Thanks to suband Graham for all the help - and learning more than I wanted to about codecs and splitters and packs and tweaks and still knowing nothing

Cheers

If you want to do some more experiments ...

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=40821

I am one of lots (or maybe several) who use this to good effect. PM Hoborg for instructions on getting the "unlocked" version.
