First of all, I would like to thank everybody here for a great forum and specially the developers of the gbpvr for great software!

I've been setting up an htpc here at home, and I am using the Hauppauge PVR-150 NTSC version eventhough the standard here in Brasil is PAL-M, but that should be no problem.

My problem is:
When I restart the computer and automaticly start gbpvr, the live tv works great, but If I close gbpvr and start it again, the tv capture card looses completly the quality and turns black and white and fuzzy... The same thing happens when I record something from the Tv.

I think this is probably a driver problem, but I've tried almost everything.

1. I've got he newest drivers from hauppauge and wintv6.
2. I tried tweaking the tv card with hauppauge tweak tool, but nothing.

Can anyone direct my into the right direction on this one?

Specs: Windows XP SP2, Hauppauge PVR-150 ntsc.

Also... I've would like to add... The WinTV has the same terrible image quality, so it could be a driver problem.

hmmm, a couple of things to try..
setting in direct.ini :
[SETUP-Main]
ForceStandard=1
ForceFrameRate=25 // 0:Auto, 25TongueAL, 30:NTSC (it'll do 29.97) [or whatever it's supposed to be for you]

tho i'm not sure if that's the right option for 'force standard'
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie

Thanks alot for your answer!

I tried that now, and the result was, that with theses changes, even live tv turned out to have bad quality even after a fresh restart...

I also formatted the computer and installed everything again, and it continues the same... But I am going to try to configure this direct.ini until I
get the solution..

Thanks.

I have to add one question...

What exactly is being changed after I shut down the GB Pvr application?? What is changed between live tv and recording tv?

I tried to use some registry and file monitor but I didn't find out alot about that.

Nothing.

Unfortunately based on your description it really sounds like some driver bug.

Ok... I've tried everything but no results, and then I noticed that the hauppauge pvr 150 does not have this problem if I use the composite rca... so that will be the solutions, I am going to see if I buy an converter coax to rca.

Just for info, my PVR150 driver is version 2.0.48.25037 from a few years back and been working fine for me since then.

I tried exactly that driver too... Could this be a faulty capture card??

Always possible, but very difficult to diagnose other than by trying a spare.
