Regarding the "allegedly illegal" screen-scraping: Is there anything illegal about a program that looks for files containing tv listings that are already on the user's computer (no internet connection involved), and then reformats it in XML format? Surely not? So isn't the answer for the EPG generator program to search the browser cache for an .html source of TV listings?
And then if the user happens to setup a batch file that automatically directs the browser to various websites, immediately before running the "browser cache scraper" program, surely that's unrelated... legally?
Any informed legal opinions on this scenario?
