Due to me not having much luck with various codec configurations, I decided to choose a clean slate to try and get dxva working, if I can't get dxva working I am not fussed anymore!

This is currently my issue at present, note the only thing I record as doing differently compared to the original installation is I didn't update power dvd to the final latest... (on the original nstall)

---

Monograph remporting cyberlink splitter & divx codec or power dvd , and monogram/cyberlink audio filters,

this isn't correct whats happening the filter won't budge!! ( powerdvd demux not acccessible?) and for some reason powerdvd cyber link h.264 codec isn't accessible via gbpvr and possibly monograph. But works fine locally in power dvd.

10:33 PM 6/16/2010

Power DVD Cyber Link was installed, locale update installed via cd and registered locally.

Updated to final 7.x version 7.3 (online)

Local playing of MP4 (H.264) media fine via cyber link power dvd but monograph / gbpvr can't play video, presume because of Demux is listed as cyberlink and for some reason once latest update was installed no 3rd plarty software,
can access the codec h.264 of cyber link. Was this a copyright issue?

divx player can play h.264 locally with its codec, which I tried reigstering with bpvr and monograph but the demux is still currently listed as cyberlink...

Media Player Home Cinema (MP-HC) has a DXVA-enabled h264 codec which can be accessed by gbpvr. Download the standalone filters, register mpcvideodec.ax, and you'll be good to go.

Some versions of the Cyberlink H.264 decoders dont seem to be usable in 3rd party apps. You may have struck one of these.

Are you on Win7? If so, have you tried the built in Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder?

Uninstalled the codecs and software (divx, power dvd complete etc...), and reinstalled power dvd codec / player

working again but no dxva... will give up on that one

You are missing something. I needed Haali media splitter with MPC-HC codec to have it render.

The MPC-HC H.264 decoder is not usable from GB-PVR for .ts playback or live tv. This decoder has a limitation that it requires it's upstream demultiplexer to parse and reassemble complete units before delivering downstream to the decoder. The Microsoft demultiplexer used by GB-PVR does not do this. Only the MPC-HC demux and Haali media splitter do this.
