hi

I have earlier install latest version of PVR2 and later I uninstall and deleted the whole directory. I tried to reinstall it again but it will give me an error message "Fatal error installation ended prematurely because of an error" . There is something in the registry that seems like giving the problem. Please help. Thanks.

Was this in windows 7? and the error something like 1603? What reg key did you delete? I've got a w7 build I was trying to make, but can't use GBPVR as I hosed it and can't reinstall.

I was also having the same problem with the “Fatal error installation ended prematurely because of an error” message. Tried at least a half a dozen times either doing a repair install or the complete install and kept getting the same message. As a last resort I manually deleted all files in the GBPVR folder and then scanned the registry 3 times with different utilities. (Glary Utilities, Advanced System Care and CCleaner). Each program found references to GBPVR which I removed. Once that was done I tried the install again and it worked flawlessly. I was also able to get the “record” function to work which is the reason that I wanted to reinstall the program. Hope this helps.

I think this has to do with un-registering the recording service. It should be

sc delete "gb-pvr recording service"

edit- wish I could spell...

I had run across other posts regarding the "sc delete "gb-pvr recording service" and I tried it myself but didn't seem to make any difference, in my case, getting GBPVR to reinstall.
