No, but once again Martin will beat me to it. He gave a thread earlier showing refurbished PCH A110's coming soon... Big Grin

I did see that thread which is why I asked the question. Any plans to support the latest hardware?

Yes Tom, but earlier in this very same thread here

from sub:

Quote:We do support HD extenders, but they're all NMT A-100/A110 clones at this stage (PopcornHour, eGreat etc). There may be support for other extenders in the future though. Unfortunately it's usually not possible to just pick a peice of hardware and say 'ok, lets write an extender for that device'. The reality is that it quite often takes the hardware manufacturer to be on board with the project and supply information.

although I have seen discussion about other possible extenders somewhere but can't find that thread either!

The only difference being that NextPVR is free I guess, whereas SageTV you paid for it? However you should be able to pick up an NMT (PCH A-100/110 or clone) on ebay and test it with NextPVR, I cannot think you would be disappointed. And you wouldn't even have to do that first, presuming that you have installed NextPVR to test by now anyway Wink

tmiranda Wrote:- Built in EPG. The Sage EPG support is very good and even includes channel logos and some limited fan art.

The EPG can be filled with the quality data from Schedules Direct which is natively supported by NextPVR. This will be same data that you will need to use in SageTV when the EPG source runs out later this year.

I have also updated the SageTV import utility and it will now automatically import all your TV icons directly from SageTV into NextPVR as shown here.

mvallevand Wrote:I disagree. babgvant a respected SageTV user/dev wrote (he also wrote the anandtech review) on the SageTV forums "It works, but the CPU is a bit underpowered to be a recommended solution unless budget is the primary concern."

I expect from a client perspective if a client works for SageTV it will work with NextPVR.
CPU power is not the key issue for an NPVR client. As long as the GPU offloads most of the decoding work, which on the E-350 it should, then it ought to work fine. I've used and sold E-350 based systems (though I admit I didn't test an NPVR client on them), and I didn't find them slow at all. I've run a NPVR client on a 1.3ghz Celeron-M notebook with i915 graphics, and it works tolerably well; the E-350 is leaps and bounds more powerful.
Quote:I partially disagree, I think sub's recording options are intelligient in that it they can hunt out shows across tuners, times etc, much like SageTV can. There are Advanced rules against the database and NEWA/SearchLite can use that today (ie recordings that search for words in the descriptions, subtitles etc).
What I understand to be meant by "Intelligent Recording" is where the device looks at what you watch, and then goes and records other things it thinks you will like based on some set of criteria which probably requires some help from an outside service. TiVo does this, it's called TiVo Suggestions (when I had a TiVo I hacked mine and turned it off). If this isn't what "Intelligent Recording" is, then I retract my comments.
Quote:A plugin could do it and I was moving that way but I had zero response from North American users to my genre searching enhancements to SearchLite so it won't be me.
I know you get a little frustrated sometimes when you work on something and don't get a lot of interest right away. Your work really is appreciated. It's just that NPVR has been changing so fast, there've been so many bugs to worry about, and many things that seem to just barely work, I really haven't been spending much time looking at the extra goodies I could add; I sort of need the core of NPVR to be a bit settled and 'done' before I start adding stuff. I think there are others who feel the same way. Take the long view, but also work on what you want to.
Quote:I expect my SageTV routine will also import logos from SageTV, so this should be a moot point. As soon as you start recording my imageGrab utility can be configured to automatically get art when programs are scheduled and/or recorded.
yes, imageGrab was what I was trying to think of... since the guy I was responding to was mostly asking for future reference, I figured it was enough to say the utility exists.

Huh? You realize that Xbox and PS3 probably stream a lot more than either of those two combined. The living room is already being owned by networked tv's and blu-rays.
