I set up NPVR recently and got it all configured and installed. My last step was to attempt to configure the IRBlaster on the capture card (HVR-2250). The software for the HVR-2250 appears to need to learn from the cable box (Comcast Motorola DCH3200) remote, but whenever I try I just get "Your remote does not appear to support the toggle bit - Retry Learning1"

I've seen other mentions of this issue, but no resolution. Has anyone gotten this to work or do I need to buy a different capture card/blaster? This is really starting to tick me off...

I just finished configuring the HVR-2250 BlastCfg software with my new Motorola DCT700 and it worked ok as long as I held the remote very close to the IR Receiver. If I misdirected the remote then I would receive the error message you describe.

I should also comment the the physical location of the IR blaster is very, very important.
If you have it even 1/2" out of position it will flash but not change channels on the set top box.
This photo shows the correct position on a DCT700:

You can locate the sensor on other models by shining a flashlight through the front panel.

The weird thing I had with the HVR-2250 was that my STB capture source had to be configured
with Capture Source #1 in GB-PVR. Capture Source #2 would NOT work with the STB but it
does work fine with ordinary coax cable. I can record two shows simultaneously, one using the STB.

That's probably what I was doing wrong. I was sitting about 1 to 2 feet from the receiver trying to program it. In the end I got frustrated, returned the 2250, and bought a 1600 which I know works because I've used it before in past GBPVR boxes... Thanks anyway Smile
