They're two different mechanisms for accessing the HDHomeRun. Use the ATSC/QAM options instead of the HDHR option though, since then you get the benefit of multi-record. You'd typically only use the HDHR option if you've got an HDHomeRun Prime.

Just a quick update. I was able to get everything in my system to work. Channel guide is good for all devices. I was originally trying to get IRSS working so I could blast the stb using USB-UIRT. I was not able to get that to work but I found the option to use the IR blaster on the HDPVR. That worked fine.

So now that I have it setup in a way that works, I have notived that the HD video playback doesn't seem to be as crisp as it used to be (off od the HD-PVR and HDHomeRuns). It seems to be fuzzy or blocky when when playing back videos with alot of motion. I am using the Arcsoft video codec for the hd streams.

I found a thread that mentioned SAF codec pack. Perhaps that would help with video quality?

Have you tried the Cyberlink decoders? I have very good result with them. HIP has good support for USBUIRT, if you want to try it.

I will give the cyberlink decoders a try. I was looking at it again just before I sat down. The video looks micro-"jerky" as well where the motion is fluid. I have tried the various rederers Overlay, VMR7 VMR9. Don't know it that makes any difference.

I started looking at HIP but I couldn't find how to enable HIP within NPVR. WHen I found that NPVR supported the HDPVR blaster I just stayed with that. If I ever get a second cable box, I will need to get either IRSS or HIP to work as the Hauppauge devices only support one IR blaster regardless of how many hauppague devices with IR you have.

Take Care

PS. On another note, since I use EventGhost for everything, I am in the process of creating a NextPVR plug-in for EventGhost. I will post it when I finish testing.

I use eventghost as well, and have done the whole setup by hand. I look forward to trying your plugin.

Should be another couple of days. Basically creating the list of NPVR keystroke commands that you can associate with remote button presses. It won't do more than what you have already created (I have configured software that way as well). It juse makes it easier to do
