Can't play MPEG2 Videos :-(

From the logs it looks like you can play mpeg2 video with ffdshow but only .ts transport streams. In my experience, this means you don't have a splitter installed. Try the Haali splitter or the full LAV Filter.

As the name says, the splitter splits something up.

You start with container-formats like AVI, MKV, MPG, TS and so on. Those CONTAINERS containing different data. For example VIDEO (MPEG-2, x264, VC-1, DivX etc.), AUDIO (AC3, DTS, AAC, WAV, MP3), SUBTITLES.
The task of a splitter is now, to split up those containerformats, so that the containing data can be processed by the decoders.

Right, that's a very simple description. But it should make you understanding, what the purpose of a splitter is.
