Pinnacle PCTV 100e - Unable to locate Analog in pin

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to use NPVR with my Pinnacle PCTV 100e, a (rather old) analogue TV tuner. I've set everything up as per instructions in the wiki, and NPVR recognises the tuner in Settings, but when I try to search for channels, it comes up with "Unable to locate analog in pin" error. I did a bit of searching and found that the problem may be related to system language - I'm using a Russian Win7, so the pin names (see logs) are in Russian too. I've tried to change the region settings, but to no avail so far. Any suggestions?

If you are actually in London then you are out of luck because that area had digital switchover several months ago so no analogue signal!!

perhaps if you remove and re-install the driver while the system language is set to English. You might also need to download an English version of the driver, perhaps from the Hauppauge UK site.

I think someone managed to edit the pin name strings by hand, maybe in the registry... It was a couple of years ago now, I don't recall the details. Keep searching and see if you can find it.

if all else fails, you'll have to wait for the next release in a few weeks (guessing), at which point sub will be able to patch in support for your Russian pin names.

I'm well aware of that - I'm mostly trying to get the recordings off my Sky box, using the analogue out on the box.

johnsonx42: thank you, I'll try and have a look in the registry first - switching the system language is a lot of pain in the backside

sometimes you can edit the pin names by editing the driver's *.inf file and reinstalling it..
YMMV tho..
