As I wrote in my earlier post, I'd need a sample to tell you if it works or not.

I have put two samples on Dropbox about 100Mb each. These where recorded with gb-pvr, dvb-t. Both play OK in VLC and sound is good. Both only play video on the popcorn hour without any sound.

They both play fine with sound here using mvpmcx2, so you need to check your version.

Cool, sorry for the dumb question but how do I check the version of mvpmcx2?
Andy.

Checking the date would be easiest, but you can telnet to box and type
/etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 -v Martin
2012-10-06, 01:04 AM
/ # /etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 -v
DFB: tv mode 11 vmode 11 This is version 2.8.3 of mvpmcx2 / # I've been running this set-up for a couple of years so I guess 2.8.3 is pretty old. I'll read the release notes etc and look to do an upgrade this weekend. Thanks, Andy.

OK, I have now upgraded to the latest version on MVPMCX and the audio is now working perfectly with the samples I put up on dropbox. Also I have noticed skipping and fast forwarding now works perfectly - there was a bit of stuttering when I tried that before with the old (really old) version.
Thanks for you help Martin, the upgrade process was very easy, I haven't upgraded this in several years and it took me all of 10 minutes - including running up and down to the basement where my gb-pvr PC is. I have just compared a DVB-S and DVB-T recording of X-Factor and the difference is night and day - the DVB-S broadcasts are very low quality when you compare them side by side. I should have moved over to DVB-T ages ago. My TV is like new again, and WAF is high - Wohoo! Version now is reported as: / # /etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 -v DFB: tv mode 11 vmode 11 This is version 3.5.3 of mvpmcx2 Cheers, Andy.
