Hi,

I hope someone can answer this.

I captured video using the default half DVD in gbpvr. When I try to archive them to DVD using Ulead Movie Factory 2 some clips want to re-encode. I look at media clip properties within UMF 2, some clips show NTSC DVD format and some with MPEG-2 format. All other settings are the same for video and audio. UMF2 won't re-encode if I delete the clips with MPEG-2 format.

What caused the file format to be different even though there was no change in the default capture.

I am using PVR USB2.

TIA.

Are you using all files in the same format? I remember something I was doing once wouldn't let me combine 2 different DVD formats, and would re-encode them both. It came out for shite.

I have set my default medium to capture half DVD. I records all shows using web schedule with medium quality. Video and audio are the same but only different in file format property.

I remember reading a tutorial for Ulead and it indicated that Ulead will sometimes re-encode, even if it should not. I'll see if I can find the article again, seems like it was linked off of videohelp.com or something like that.

the capture card isnt creating a perfect mpeg2 file, things like dropped frames etc do occur, so the file needs to be fixed before it can be burnt to dvd (some programs dont require this, but some do), for dvd burning in my videos, it requires you to (well not requires but default it does) demux then remux the file (it takes about 1/8 of the time of the movie) fixing all those little imperfections and then burns them to dvd.
