Like Stustnz, I thought I had the latest version of OE but I see 7.0.1 dated March 2016. I'll try this and report back.

Yeah but that only gets you kodi 16
Until.you are in kodi 17 the delay in buttons is still there (Libreelec is on 17)
Well this is the only difference I can see

I will double check today though because I prefer the crc settings on openelec they seem to work better

I don't think it is a Kodi version issue but I can't pinpoint anything specific.

Ok well I know the first time I tried it back when you switched to 5..... Even my laptop was slow to respond and this is not the case now
Just my observations I have nothing to back it up

I pretty much put every build through 15-18 on my laptop. I regularly test SPMC which is 16 on Android. For the purpose of this discussion I even tested OE 6.0.3 on an RPi3 with 15 and don't get the lags. That is why I say it is not conclusive.

Well tried again rpi3 on kodi 16 it's no where near as responsive and get lots of black screens
Don't get any of that with kodi 17 on Libreelec, with pretty much same addons installed so I guess I will just stick with that.

I wondered if any of my addons were causing issues. In particular my keymapping 1 so I started with a fresh card and put nothing by OE 6 and X-NEWA on it. Same unresponsiveness I'm afraid. Given that Martin is quite confident that it works in Kodi 17 (and Stustnz confirms with Libreelec) I'll wait for a bit to see if OE comes out with the latest Kodi and go from there.

In the meantime I will cope with no resume.

Thanks for all the effort. Much appreciated

try loading libreelec its easy as oe and pretty much the same (more responsive than OE i reckon though)

yeah tried disabling a few things even changed refresh rate all still 2-3 second delay on menu items

my resume works fine though

Tried Libreelec last night and it works just fine. I just have 1 issue with my key mappings (as my tv remote has no transport keys) and I'll be good to go. I'd suggest that the responsiveness is about the same as OE6 / Kodi 16 with the earlier version of X-NEWA. Libreelec / Kodi 17 / X-newa (latest) is snappy and responsive as well as "resume" working.

So not sure what causes the issue but for me it's resolved. Thanks for all the input.
