Solving 1 minute conflict

For example:

When recording some shows, its runtime says 8:00 - 9:01 so attempting to record another show at 9:00 fails, saying there is a conflict.

Is there a way to resolve this?

From memory you can use a pre-padding on the second show of "-1", at least if you're scheduling a season recording of the second show.

Does negative padding always come into effect or only when the conflict happens. I'd prefer no padding (or my wishlist default 7 seconds) if there is a tuner available.

I can't remember the exact details - it's been a really long time since I used it myself. I think it'll start at the specified time if it can.
