'Menu' key in v5 windows client

Hi,

Finally getting round to migrating to v5 as I'm home alone for the first time in almost 2 years.

Setting up my remote to work with the v5 Windows client - with v4 I had the 'menu' button on my remote set up, and this would show the main menu without stopping playback. I believe this did the same thing as the 'Home' key on the keyboard. This meant you could go to the full TV Guide, browse recordings etc without stopping your TV channel or recording.

This doesn't seem to work with v5. Is this functionality still available? Has the key mapping changed?

Sorry it's not available at this stage. I knew it wasn't a feature used very often, so it wasn't very far up the priority list for v5. Infact, you're the first person to ask about it.

I'm not sure yet if this feature will make a return in the future.

Ok, thanks - it's not a huge deal, but would be nice to have.

A couple of other questions that probably don't warrant their own thread:

- Is it possible to change the background image to a custom image in the v5 client?
- Is it possible to increase the size of the channel icons in the EPG?
- Is it possible to change the font size used for the channel names when those are set to be visible, or even split longer channel names over two lines?

I was really impressed with how easy and simple it was to migrate to v5 - should have done it ages ago!

Yes, by replacing "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\data\skin\Default\background.jpg"

Yes, by editing "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\data\skin\Default\TV Guide\Guide.xml". You'd need to experiment to get the changes you're looking for.
