Theater 550 recording problem (wrong aspect ratio etc.)

Hi!

I'm from Hungary (PAL country) .

If i record a tv program with GB-PVR, or viewing live tv with live preview off, the picture has wrong aspect ratio and the bottom of the picture is disappear. With live preview enabled everything is normal.

With graphedit, i can reproduce exactly the 2 picture (the wrong aspect ratio, and the normal) with changing the ATI AVStream Analog Capture Filter video-decoder from NTSC (result wrong aspect ratio etc.) to PAL (good).

How can i adjust that in GB-PVR?

You could try editing the direct.ini file, and setting the ForceStandard setting to 16.

Mog. I had the similar problem and the only solution was to install the latest driver and the latest ATI DVD Decoder (but you have to own an original ATI Catalyst CD to install it).
Setting it to the default decoder solved the problem.

Thats solved the problem! Now everything works fine. Great software!

Gaspika: With the latest driver i have noisy audio (with powercinema to), and the original (older) driver solved the problem, so i don't wannt to install the latest.
