Hey guys, I'm hoping one of you can help me out here.

Config:
Duron 1200
384 MB RAM
MSI Theatre 550
Old Nvidia MX400 vid card
LG 4163 DVDRW

Two main things...

1) I'm having problems with my video and audio synching. Seems that the audio is like a fraction of a second slower than my video.. is there any way to compensate for this?

2) When I play DVD's some work, others don't. Most of them willplay fine, however on newer ones like Attack of the Clones and Spiderman2 as soon as the FBI warning goes by and the movie actualy starts, the refresh on my TV goes nuts! Audio is fine, but the screen looks scrambled. I have to re-boot the system to get back to regular mode. I can't just esc out and try another codec before it works.

Any ideas? I've been pounding my head against the wall all week.. and I have little time these days to play around with it.

I assume you're talking about live tv? Try setting the deinterlacing setting to 'encoder pass-through'

Thanks sub! Worked perfectly. Now if I can figure out why my DVD is not working, I'd be all set!

Any ideas on a codec I could try or what could be the problem?

This may not be the cause of your problem but thought I'd add it into the mix anyway. - Do you have enough CPU capacity availabe to play DVD's. I had a Duron 1300 and found the CPU load was 50-80% on LiveTV and 80-100% on DVD playback with wierd problems. When I replaced the CPU with a Athlon 2000+, the problems went away. Also my physical RAM runs at 350-400MB on WinXP (512MB total), so have you got enough RAM?

Do they work if you play them in another player (like WinDVD, Windows MediaPlayer etc.)? If not, at least it isn't a problem with GB-PVR..

As far as the RAM and CPU goes. I have a Intel 2.4 I'm going to try. Also, your right, it doesn't work with any of my players. Its not a GBPVR problem. I just was hoping that someone here might know how to fix this.

The only absolute fix, is a faster CPU and more RAM.
You can never have enough tuners!
Pentium Quad / 4Gb Dual Channel RAM / XPSP3 / 2 x PVR-500, PVR-250 / GB-PVR

I think your DVD problem is caused by either copy protection or region coding of the disc. I remember another user had this issue in the last and fixed the problem by installing some dvd region free utility. Unfortunately I cant remember the exact name of the utility, but if you use the search button it should turn it up...

You guys have been great!

Getting alot closer now to figuring this DVD problem out. So far every single player I try to use with this fails... except VLC. Works great! Any way i can get GBPVR to use VLC as its default player?

I also found something called InterActual. I hear its spywear... is this causing a problem? It seems to want to install itself every time I want to play a DVD.
