I'm running Windows XP, SP2 with plenty of HD and memory. I'm very new to GB-PVR. I attempted to follow the Quick Start Capture Source Options, but when I clicked on Update EPG, I get the message "Your EPG Source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG Service settings and try again"

I'm using Zap2it, and have registered with them. The Recorder Plugin is Direct Recording Plugin, the EPG Plugin is Zap2it, and Channel Changer is No Channel Changer Required. I use a Hauppauge PVR-250 card, and set source to Internal Tuner. I believe I should see all the channels which Comcast supplies when I click Update EPG. Instead, I get the notice that the system is updating the program listing, but the message above also appears, and everything stops.

Can anyone suggest a solution to this?

Did you remember to put your login info in the config? ALso, you can try closing the config and restarting it. That happened to me yesterday and closing the config to restart somehow reset that part so I could complete the setup

Another common cause of this is the user has a firewall that is stopping GB-PVR communicating with the zap2it website.

Does anyone know what needs to be enable in the firewall to download the epg from zap2it? I am having the same problem. I think it is occuring through the nVidia firewall on my motherboard(Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, with nVidia nForce4 chipset).

I decided to disable my Norton Internet Security 2005. This allowed the EPG to download the necessary program information from Zap2it.

If anyone knows how to Update EPG while your security software is working, let me know.

Double click on the world icon (login as supervisor if you need to). Click on personal firewall and then click "configure" go into the part marked "Programs" and set the status of the GBPVR config to "permit all".
