Hello,

First of all, I love this SW!!!

I still have couple of 'small' issues I would like to be able to solve. The first one is more important, the other I have to take a deeper look unless there is an easy explanation:

1.

I am recording ~>100 episodes of a cartoon to my kids (~6 episodes/week). The recording is set up as season recording, start 1 minute before and end 2 minutes after.

Every week the channel broadcasts two episodes after each other at one day but GB-PVR for some reason records only the other one (latter).

--> Oh, this just popped to my mind, could it be about the extra pre/post recording time?

2.

Something funny is going on with the timeshift in my PC. If I have it on and I have a scheduled recording that should start, GB-PVR does automatically start recording the scheduled channel, but the files get messed-up or corrupted.
I haven't had time to investigate this so this could be just me messing something up.

Any ideas?

If the double play is on the weekend set the weekend to record this time this slot. Set the prepadding and then set the post padding to cover the second show plus the 2 minutes. or alternately make the double play a manual recording.

Shouldn't be. If you record two shows that are contiguous in the EPG, you simply won't have any post-padding for the first and no pre-padding for the second.
However, if (and it's a major if) you set up both of the shows as "record this daily timeslot", and both shows have the same title, I suspect GBPVR might find the first, then when it looks for the second, it will find the first again and decide it has already scheduled this. The reason for this is in the way GBPVR works (which I learned from others):
When you setup a daily timeslot, the timeslot is allowed to move by as much as 120 minutes, and GBPVR will still find it.
Maybe, just maybe, when GBPVR looks for the second show it searches on this day and finds the first, then tries to add it and sees it already did (when it looked for the first).
Perhasp Sub would help clarify if I am shooting blind (but to the correct direction) or maybe I am shooting with my back to the target.

I have set up the recording as
Record Season (all episodes on this channel)
The episodes are never during weekends.

I don't know which day they send two recordings in a row, it can vary from week to week. I know that it happens as I get a minute of the previous episode in the beginning of some recordings and also the sequence number in the show jumps over one recording once a week.

Do the following: Delete the pending episodes. Do an 'Update EPG'. Lastly, post your config.exe.log and and a description of what the name of the show is, and which shows you think it should have recorded, and which shows didnt get recorded. This should give us all the info we need resolve the problem.

Sub,

unfortunately there are no such recordings in the next two weeks.

I am going to regenerate the situation by changing the fi.xml file to contain such repeating entries and then try again.

<programme start="20050831174500 +0300" stop="20050831181500 +0300" channel="1.katso.fi">
<title lang="fi">FST: BUU-klubben: Bärtil</title>
<desc lang="fi">Lampaat osaavat lukea. Tänään Bärtil saa äidiltään yllätyksen. Matti katsoo kanssasi myös ohjelman Randi lähtee liikkeelle. http://buu.yle.fi</desc>
</programme>
<programme start="20050831181500 +0300" stop="20050831183500 +0300" channel="1.katso.fi">
<title lang="fi">FST: BUU-klubben: Bärtil</title>
<desc lang="fi">This is actually FST: TV-nytt, but I changed the name to be able to test the problem</desc>
</programme>

I already tried to change the title (see above), but for some reason I cannot see my changes in gbpvr even though I go to Config app and update the epg from there (tried 2 times, closed all files and tried again)??? How does gbpvr update it's epg from the original epg fi.xml file? Or did I mess up the xml by editing it?

Once a shows is in the database, its never updated. You can to an 'Empty EPG' to remove them and try again though.
