Ok I have a MCE remote V2 and have installed the HIP program. I can get the remote to move up and down the menu and enter but that's about it.

How do I get to map the various keys i.e live Tv to access the GBPVR "live TV" section etc etc. Has anyone there must be some one who has figured all this out and can post a config.

Your assistance will be greatly Appreciated.

Cheers

take a look at the gbpvr-wiki:

I'm using HIP with GBPVR and having a fair amount of success with it. You can program different functions for each remote key for different programs, which makes it easier to use your own plugins for file viewing, playing vcds etc

It has a setting to control the irblaster which looks good. Unlike other programs I've looked at it lets you point a remote (eg your cable box remote) at the receiver and record the signal generated. You can then play that back through the ir blaster - it even has a test function where it repeatedly plays back a command while you move the ir lens around to get the best reception. I know there are other programs that do this, but this one seems the most intuitive.

Having said that, I haven't got the irblaster bit to work! The light flashes on the irsender at the right time, but my TV, Stereo and cable box all ignore it. If anyone else has a similar problem (mine is also an MCE remote), please let me know.

I am also working on a focus problem : after running a plugin (eg Internet explorer to display a certain page) focus doesn't return to GBPV. I have to click a mouse on the screen to get the remote to work again. I'll post here when I figure that out.

hmm... there is a bit 'rough' but effective soloution for your problem, hk phoey:

instead of directly calling e.g. internet explorer, call a batch file, containing two lines:
c:\path\to\iexplore.exe
c:\path\to\gbpvr.exe

the batch waits in the background when ie is started... as soon as you close the browser, the next command (starting gbpvr.exe) is launched.
gbpvr.exe checks if another instance is allready running (i believe since 0.93.10), sets the focus to it and terminate itself.

Thanks, that batch idea seems to work.

Add in the parameters "-k" for internet explorer to put it in to kiosk mode, so you don't have the menus and toolbars.

Hey can you post you HIP config file to see if I can get it to work.

I did have some success with HIP, re-mapped the my videos buttons etc then tried learning the satalite remote, small sucess, but very intermittant. I think this is the IR USB issue. would like to get a USBUIRT.

I then upgraded GBPVR recently and it stopped working, Now I only get the basic controls to work. i.e volume, up, down enter Live TV.

Cheers
