Speaking of rectracker, is there another way to use outside of postprocessing.bat?

I can't function w/o it, but it's the only thing keeping me from dumping the bat and allowing SA to run while recording in CP.

you can run it through the command line but that really does not help. What are you thinking?

Thx, but you're right that it's not what I'm looking for.

I'm doubtful at the moment there is an alt. It would basically take some method of auto-running rectracker after recording outside of the postproc*.bat file.

Right now you can't use the new SA/Comskip while recording feature if you have the bat, but I rely on rectracker because a) it works, and b) I can add/remove things to it in XRecord.

Again, I doubted there was a way (short of having it batch the day's worth in postepg*.bat, but that wouldn't help when the show may be one more than 1x that day), so it was more out of curriosity. It only means the "agony" of waiting until the show is over to get SA to run ("the horror! the horror of it!")

the only other option. I can give rectracker the ability to detect if the show is in progress then calculate the amount of time to sleep, when the show is complete the app would wake up and finish.

I have not made the jump from Comskip to Show Analyzer yet. And I almost never watch anything while it is being taped. But it could be useful. It is a balance between comskip works and is free. Show Analyzer free version is slower than comskip but more acurate.

I do not like this solution a lot since you will not be able to use the recycler. Perhaps a generic solution instead that would execute a batch when the show is finished.

I suppose the trick is the combination of triggering it, and knowing rectracker is being used by the user, so it knows to activate it.

Ideally, the time to do it would be when it hops from Pending to Available. Since I think postproc runs any time the recording stops (at end or on a manual canel), there would be no harm in having it run even at the start of the recording.

This is more of a pet-project lvl thing, more than a "waaa...why doesn't it do this!" request Wink. Differnces between SA/Comskip aside (just use SA because it handled some unique detection on Fox/FX better), the only other reason to have rectracker be more automatic is if more auto-run things like this will be added to GB, and won't work if postproc is there, being able to dump it would be good.

We don't watch a whole lot as we record, except for things the *@#&% news will ruin for you in the morning (eg, plot twists on major shows, who was fired on The Apprentice, etc)
