Hi,

Until a couple of days ago i've been running 95.10 for several weeks without any problems. I've got a NOVA-T usb2 and i could update the epg for all channels without any problems.
However, a couple of days ago i upgraded to 95.14 and the epg is behaving a bit strange. It runs ok but leaves big gaps on some channels and others it doesnt pick up at all.
Has anyone else had similar problems? apart from this its working fine.
keep up the good work Sub!
cheers

If its leaving gaps, you could try increasing this value in config.xml:

<DvbEpgHarvestDuration>120</DvbEpgHarvestDuration>

This is how long in seconds it will monitor for the transponder for EPG information. Bump it up to 240 or something similar.

Hi Sub,

Thanks for the info. I'll try it when i get home and let you know if it works. Why would it start doing this though? have you lowered the value in the new version? i never had this problem with the previous version.

cheers

You mentioned 95.10 above, but this wasnt a release, so I'm not really sure what previous version you're talking about. Maybe 94.13? If so, that used to do things a quite different way, so its not easy to compare. It used to wait about 10 minutes compared to the default 2 minutes for the new method.

2 minutes seems to work well on my channels, but may not be enough for your channels depending the number channels in the same mux, and the number of shows in those channels.

Hi Sub,

Yes you're right sorry it was 94.13 i had before. Anyway, i guess its changed a lot so I'll try your suggestion. I do seem to recall it took a long time to update and seems quicker now.

cheers

Hi Sub,

I did as you suggested and increased the value to 240. After it ran i had a lot less gaps but still a couple of areas which were blank for several hours. I tried increasing it to 300 and ran it again. This time it didnt seem to make much difference, if any. I still have the same gaps.
Anyway, its helped a bit but hasnt entirely solved the problem. Shall i try increasing it even more, or can you suggest anything else?
cheers

Just run it some other time, and hopefully it'll full in the gaps. Just so you know though, even the old way of would result in holes - you may have just been lucky and not seen them.

After you leave things running a few days, it'll naturally full in gaps anyway, since it has several goes at it (since it runs daily). After its been running and automatically updating for a few days, you'll find gaps are mostly several days away.
