I have just recently upgraded to GB-PVR 96.12, and with that also upgraded the "New Icon Flat Blue - High Vis" skin to that version (using 96GreenOrb.zip from the wiki).

All seems fine except for the fact that the square panel in the upper right displays absolutely nothing and I no longer have the info messages on the main screen telling me what is recording now and soon.

I miss those messages. How do I get them back? And, how is teh top right panel configured?

Thanks.

Sorry about that - I now use the VAPanel for all my notifications, so that is enabled by default in the skin (shows program icons and weather info as well etc). To change back to the standard recording notification option, edit the main menu skin.xml file near the end to have
...panelName="NextRecording" visible="true"...

The top right panel was basically created to have a defined area for playing windowed video if you return to the main menu via the Home/menu key while the video is playing. (As well as being where the VAPanel "currently recording" icon is, Reminders plugin info appears etc.)

cheers,

Sorry ... I've been out of the loop for a while. I've seen references to the VAPanel in a few forum posts as well as in the wiki page for the Flat Blue High Vis skin, however, I'm at a loss as to how I get it and enable it.

I downloaded the GBPVRCommonUtilities and put the DLL into the main GB-PVR folder, but that didn't seem to do anything in terms of using the VAPanel. So, in the meantime, I have changed the skin.xml file as you advised. However, while this did allow me to see the "Recording Soon" data, it only displayed ONE item. It did not cycle through all of the shows that were scheduled to record within the next 24 hours as it used to. As an example, I have 4 shows scheduled to record on Monday nights. I am currently only seeing the first of these diplayed statically in the "Recording Soon" info. (NOTE: The standard "Blue" skin has this same problem as well.)

Also something that has become problematic for me in this latest version is that when I pause a video, the time line displayed at the top and the info at the bottom are no longer displayed atop a blue background, but rather they are now diplayed directly atop the video that is paused. Depnding on what is displayed in the background at the time, this can make it very diffcult to read the text diplayed at both ends of the time line and at the bottom of the TV screen. I'm not sure if this is a function of your SKIN coding or whether it is more specific to GB-PVR coding. If the former, could you tell me how I can get back to showing the blue background?

Thanks.

For the video archive panel, I think you have to download and install the VideoArchive plugin which contains the VAPanel. You can untick the VideoArchive part in the plugins config, while leaving the VAPanel portion available - I think you will find it has quite a bit of added functionality.

As for the blue background going on the OSD, that was me - often if I paused a sports event etc to check on something, the relevant action was occurring behind the big blue bar, so I commented it out although I made the text shadowed to maintain visibility. If you want to revert to the having the bars, you can un-comment-out the boxes in the skin.xml file in the OSD skin directory, or simply replace it with the attached file.

Thanks ... I'll check into the VideoArchive plugin when I have more time on my hands. For now, though, can you comment on what I had noted with respectto the "Recording Soon" now only displaying the next ONE scheduled recordings and no others.

OK ... weird ... now it's magically working again (i.e., I am seeing all of my scheduled recording for today cycling through the upper right rectangle).

The only thing I changed just now is the OSD skin.xml to restore back the blue bar for the time line. I can't imagine that would have made the difference.

Any ideas on what controls the "recording soon" display (i.e., in terms of what pending recordings will show up there)?

Sorry - no idea. The only difference in the OSD skin.xml I sent you and the standard one with the skin is that I un-commented out the boxes in the Live Video section, so that wouldn't have had anything to do with it. I haven't used the default "recording soon" option for quite a while, but can't think of where its settings would be changed - maybe a quick search of the gbpvr config xml file?

cheers,
