DBoxRecorder causing Recording service to stop?

Hi Alibert and Sub

Im not really sure where this problem arises from, but ive noticed a number of failed D-Box recorder scheduled programs failing, whilst the recordings are normally very robust and am finding the following in the Recordingservice log files:

What i dont understand is:
1, I dont ever record or schedule anything from the sports channels??
2, Why does the recording service shutdown like its been requested to, rather than just failing?
3, What could be the cause of this problem, and how can i narrow things down to get to the bottom of it??

I dont have any ideas and cant attatch the complete logs because there are a nights worth of recordings running, will post a complete set in the morning.
Any ideas welcomed!

to (1):
the entries in the log are coming from the timer synchronizitaion thread. It registers so called timer events into your dbox to ensure the box is powered on at the time a recording on the dbox capture device should occur. If your dbox is always powered on or in soft standby mode, you can safely disable this feature in the plugins configuration.
If you never record something on "Sky Sports 3", then it seems that your channel lineup is not mapped correctly to the dboc channels. Check your channel mappings in the config form of the recordingplugin.

to (2):
I don't see an obvious reason why the recording service is shutting down, neither because of the plugin, nor for another reason, sorry.

to (3):
You can disable the timer synchronization feature if you don't need it. Maybe ggrab will stream a bit more reliable (from my experiences) - I saw that you're using the wingrab engine.

Thanks Alibert, im confident that the channels are mapped correctly, i printed about three pages of channels from 'Bouquet Wizard', arranged my XMLTVRT channels to be identical (and crossed out the few that didnt have listings on RT site) and then numbered them so i could map the channels - all channels i have recorded have been the correct channels. I think perhaps those might have come from some tests that i did ages ago and have never cleared from the D-Box, i'll look into that. Do you know how to reset D-Box timers?

Regarding 2, do you think the shutdown is unrelated to the D-Box recorder? If so i will have to start looking elsewhere for the issue.

Regarding 3 - I actually found ggrab to be awful, the slightest glitch in the recording would cause the recording to stop and register as failed. Wingrab has been far more reliable, and so far, most recordings missed seem to coincide with the recording service stopping as seen above!?!?!

To Sub - is there a way of identifying what requested the shutdown of the recording service? Could it be related to Vista, or do i need to look for viruses or conflicting programs or something like that?

you can do it using the remote control (in neutrino: blue key -> timerlist, as far as I know), or you can access the timerlist using the dbox' webinterface (just enter the box IP into a browser).

Well, at least I can't see why the recording service is 'signalled to shutdown'. It would be helpful if you could surely reproduce the behaviour.
