Ok, so I downloaded gb-pvr, and I installed it and it appeared to go ok. But when I tried to start it, it simply would not start, no error or anything. I have an ATI 550Pro tuner, and windows xp pro sp2. I had the .net framework 2.0 installed prior to installation. I tried restarting the PC to see if it would help, and here is where it really started to go wrong. When I got into windows, I got an error that said the gb-pvr tray encountered problems and needed to close. So I go into the program folder and try starting gb-pvr again, still no go. I then tried starting the config program (which did not start after the install btw), and I got an error that it encountered problems and needed to close. The only thing that worked was the channel tuner, which was a little scary, because it says I need to write down each frequency for each channel and enter it in gb-pvr for the channel to work. That would be very time consuming and boring, do I really need to do that? It seems to not be going well at all for me, please help.

Do you have .net 1.1 installed? You need to have this specific version.

Ok I can do that. Also, where do I get an MPEG multiplexer filter? It says I don't have one, and I need one.

You dont need one with an ATI 550 Pro. Muxes are only used for digital capture devices.

Ok, now another thing. The wiki says I should use thwe Zap2it for the epg source. But to use that, I need some kind of key code, which I can not find anywhere. Where do I get it?

Go into config, then into capture sources. Select your tuner, click edit, select Zap2it as the EPG source then click settings for the EPG source. It not only provides the code you need but the proper link to Zap2It.

Everyone is here to help, but I suggest reading the install guide, the Quick Start guide, and configuration notes. Doing so will help you get up and running faster and enjoying this awesome software.

Ok, I took a look at that, I got a little bit further, but now I am having a problem that is not explained in the quickstart. I made a Zap2it account, and I made my program listing, but when I put my username and password into gb-pvr, and when I hit update epg, it tries to retrieve the program listing from zap2it, but it just hangs there and then gives me a message my epg is not configured correctly?? What the heck? I did what it said in the quickstart and it still has this problem. What can I do?? What is that epg days setting in the zap2it config? Its not in the quickstart.

Make sure your capture source is right (PVR-150, or whatever). Put your username and password in, then click ok to everything to get config to close. Go back into config and try an update. That will probably work.

EPG days? That's pretty self explainitory. How many days of data do you want loaded into your EPG. You can go up to 13.
