MCE remote with wintv pvr250 question

I have a wintv pvr250 (non mce version). If I were to purchase an MCE IR remote control will it work correctly with gbpvr to tune channels and everything else. The only reason im asking this question is because I dont have the mce version of the wintv pvr250 and I wasnt sure if an MCE remote would work correctly with it.
