Hello everyone. Thanks for advice in advance.

Running .96 version of gbpvr and was loving the software. I am not using the recording features since I don't have cable. Strictly used for playing videos, music, viewing pictures.

I started adding the "My" series of plugins which were all working great. Getting daring I even installed the CountourHC skin which made things look great, however I don't know if this might have lead to my future problems. The one plugin I did not have was the My Programs plugin which I thought would be great since my toddler seems to love Pole Position.

So I follow the directions and the plugin shows up in my config utility, but it will not show up in the actual gbpvr software. Keep trying but no luck. Then for some reason the other "My" plugins would just disappear when starting the software? I would have to go back into the config app, deselect the plugin, run the config again, then select the plugin again.

Well that worked for a while but suddenly nothing I did would get the other "My" plugins to show up. Like I said they show up in the config app with no problem, however not in the actual application. I even tried it would the default blue skin but this made no difference.

In desperation I renamed the original copy of the config.xml file and let it overwright my hosed one which I thought would let me essentially start over. I also created a new copy of the MyDatabase.mdb. Well this allowed me to get the MyVideos to work again, however nothing I do well let the MyMusic plugin work.

I have looked through the log files but there are several and I am not sure which one I should be looking at.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really love this software.

Nice way to bump...Smile I haven't used this pluging yet, but heck, that never stopped me from putting in my $.02 :p

Are you using all the My series plugins from the wiki?
What versions are they ?
(newer betas from reven's site use a different skinning format and are not compatible)

Post your gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.config.log files.

Reven (plugin author) is busy and does not have time to check all messages. You may want to visit his site and post there as well.

http://reven.co.nz/

Also, try removing the myprograms.dll from the plugins directory and see if this clears up your problem.

Some combinations of plugins and skins just downt work before you use a skin you need to check witch plugins are suported. The best wat to find the problem is to turn off all the plugins and turn them on one by one testing them in GB PVR after you have slected each one you should be able to pin point the problem.

1. post your logs
2. what versions of the plugins are you using? (ones from the wiki)
2.1 if so my programs is a completely independent plugin and should never effect any of the other plugins
2.2 if youre using the ones from my forum, then that would explain the problem you are having.

Thanks everyone, did not mean to come off as irritated. I do appreciate everyones imput. I agree my topic title was crap and I will keep this in mind when posting again.

Reven, I have since started over and tried your newer My Music plugin and posted my results on your forum.

What is driving me crazy is that everything was working perfectly until I attempted the My Programs plugin. Should all the My plugin versions that are posted on the Wiki site work with the ContourHC skin? This my be my issue although like I said all were working before I tried the My Programs plugin.

Reven if you have a second look at my posts in your forum on your website.

Ok I looked on Reven's forum and he took me to the woodshed for asking about skin compatability.

Forgive me. I am new and I still getting a grasp on how all parts of this program interoperate.

I guess I am not clear on the plugin/skin requirements.

the my music, my vids, my programs on my forum are .net 2.0, the ones on the wiki are 1.1, my programs from the wiki doesnt work with gbpvr 0.97 or above.

because they're mostly still beta releases, i only want posts relating to problems about the plugins, not about skin issues that of course wont work (the skins havent been updated to support the plugins). if it doesnt work with the default "blue" skin, then you can post a question.

So in the gbpvr software, if you install a plugin that does not support the skin you are using then it will not show up in the software?

If that is the case is that true of all plugins? I am trying to narrow down my troubleshooting on these problems.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

Reven I was using .NET 2.0, gbpvr 9.6, the Wiki versions of My Music, My Pictures, and My Video, all under the ContourHC skin. Everything was working great. I am thinking that I may have caused a problem when I installed the gbpvr common utilities software.

I will keep working on it.

depends on the plugin, some now will default to the "blue" skin for that plugin if the skin isnt found (all "my" betas should do this, but not everyone on the wiki, my programs wont)

nah that shouldn't have had anything to do with it, unless that replaced the "ultraid3lib.dll" file i use.

ultraid3lib.dll
a few plugin use different version of this dll, but this dll isnt backwards compatible with itself, the author keeps changing the API with every release (really annoying, but hey its free). if you want to use my music, pics, vids (the betas/rc's ones) you need to make sure that youre using the ultraid3lib.dll that is provided with each of those plugins. this enabled the music panel in the plugins to display the current track info for MP3 files.
